It was recently announced that the Black Forest Mill has been given a $100,000 grant for a solar farm. The Black Forest Mill is located approximately 2.5km south of Woodend, a rural town sited between Kyneton and Macedon on the north edge of Macedon’s Black Forest, about 65km north of Melbourne. peckvonhartel has been appointed to develop a master plan to regenerate this important part of Victorian history.

The vision for the Black Forest Mill is to develop, in collaboration with local residents, a vibrant, welcoming and affordable precinct which Victorians and visitors to the State can share with the local community the many delights of the Macedon Ranges and surrounding regions. The precinct will highlight the rich history of the district, showcase local produce and artisans, whilst providing sound employment and business opportunities that draw on local talent and resources. The precinct will build community wealth and commercial returns to owners and investors while casting a small environmental footprint.
