peckvonhartel has been working with the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) and Department of Human Services (DHS) to design and develop an exciting new workplace strategy and concept design for their national office. The Techne Group are confirmed as the preferred tenderer for the project, which will have over 15,000sqm of A Grade accommodation located on the former Carlton Hotel site at 21 Malop Street in Geelong, VIC.

The national office will become an exemplar workplace which enables people of varying abilities to work harmoniously in a safe, flexible and functional environment. Based on a neighbourhood principle with a central core of shared support spaces that link different team areas, the fitout will allow spaces to be reconfigured with minimal effort. Designed to meet all workplace constraints, the ambition is to establish a different standard, one of Universal Design where the experience of people with different abilities is not only supported, but it inspires unique design ideas that are expressed in the physical environment.

In addition to the NDIA and DHS headquarters, peckvonhartel is currently delivering the WorkSafe Victoria’s new headquarters which is under construction at 1 Malop Street. Both of these large government projects are strengthening Geelong’s reputation as a leading insurance and government destination and peckvonhartel is delighted to be at the forefront of this exciting development.
