peckvonhartel is excited to have won the Interior Design – Corporate or Hospitality award at the 2012 Sydney Design Awards for our design of Jamie’s Italian Sydney.

This award recognises building interiors, with consideration given to space creation and planning, furnishings, finishes and aesthetic presentation. The designs focus was space allocation, traffic flow, integration of building services, lighting, fixtures, flooring, colours, furnishings and surface finishes to enhance the dining experience.

Jamie’s Italian opened in the Sydney CBD in October 2011 and was an Australian first for the highly successful Jamie’s Italian brand of restaurants, established by world-renowned chef Jamie Oliver.

The site chosen for the restaurant was an extraordinarily long and narrow space on Pitt Street, peckvonhartel converted the space into an open plan restaurant to cater for up to 200 guests with a beverage bar, antipasto bar and pasta station. This design was also shortlisted for a 2012 Interior Design Excellence Award.

peckvonhartel continues to work with Jamie’s appointed Australian partner, Pacific Restaurant Group, on the rollout of further Jamie’s Italian restaurants across Australia and is a valued client for peckvonhartels hospitality sector.
