desalination project

peckvonhartel at the forefront of infrastructure design

As part of the Victorian Government's Water Plan, "Our Water Our Future: The Next Stage", the Victorian Government is developing Australia's largest desalination plant to produce drinking water from seawater. The successful consortium, AquaSure will deliver one of the largest reverse-osmosis desalination plants in the world, capable of supplying up to 150 billion litres of water a year. AquaSure has contracted the Thiess Degrémont Joint Venture to construct the Victorian Desalination Project. Beca and Parsons Brinckerhoff have formed a Joint Venture to deliver engineering design services for this project. As part of this arrangement, peckvonhartel will provide architectural services for the 25 buildings that constitute the Victorian Desalination Plant. Work on the design phase has already commenced and water is scheduled for delivery by the end of 2011. The design of the Plant focuses on developing the total integration of architecture and landscape on the site at Wonthaggi Victoria. more...
