			peckvonhartel celebrates 30 years of practice peckvonhartel celebrated its 30th Anniversary with a cocktail party held at their newly designed Wheeler Centre for Books, Writing & Ideas at the State Library in Melbourne. The night was a great way to reflect on past and present achievements and to celebrate the ongoing success of the company. Guest speaker for the evening was Minister Peter Batchelor MP, whose Ministerial portfolios include Infrastructure, Major Projects and Transport. 			mildura jewel shines On 26 February 2010, peckvonhartel’s design for the Mildura Jewel, a new entertainment complex to be built in Mildura, Victoria, was revealed. The design includes a Casino and Hotel, featuring 130 of the plushest and most luxurious rooms and suites available, a 1500 square metre Business and Convention Centre that can seat 1000 people, a Grand Piazza and Terrace for public use, and a large plaza that can be used for events. more...

			rejuvenating sydneys laneways - the grasshopper Located on Temperance Lane, which runs off George Street Sydney, Grasshopper is possibly Sydney's hardest to find bar. "Grasshopper is probably what Clover had in mind when she pushed the small bar laws through." (twothousand.com.au) Designed in collaboration with the owners, this cosy and welcome addition to the Sydney bar scene hosts an upstairs intimate restaurant with an open kitchen, low lighting and close tables. While downstairs the bar is wallpapered with vintage kung fu images and the room is filled with 70s-era armchairs and lamps. (read review, review, review)

			wandin yallock primary school peckvonhartel is engaged in the regeneration of Wandin Yallock Primary School. Currently in the design development stage, the project consists of a new Learning Precinct made up of seven Learning Studios and a new administration and community hub. The cultural and historical values embedded within the site and the school’s strong relationship to the landscape, inspired the key design initiatives consisting of meaningful journey through the site, integration of the landscape and human scale built form. The new design of the school seeks to create flexible, adaptable and inspiring educational spaces that link strongly to the outdoors.

			police station under construction peckvonhartel has designed the new 24hr Police Station at Narellan, NSW on behalf of United Group Services for the NSW Police Capital Works portfolio. It will unite the Local Area Commands Custody, Crime Management, Highway patrol, Detectives, TAG police departments and Court staff in a central location. more...

			23,000sqm building refurbishment peckvonhartel provided design services for the upgrade and refurbishment of 23,000sqm at 175 Pitt Street, Sydney. peckvonhartel's design improved the building's street presence by bringing the façade further toward Pitt Street and included a unique zinc-cladded sculpted form to create a focal point at the new entry. peckvonhartel also drove a number of ESD Initiatives to help achieve improved NABERS and Greenstar Ratings for the building. more...

The result is exceptional with the reception and entry area employing sophisticated furniture and finishes, a curved timber-ply wall links the board and meeting rooms, and all workstations are positioned to gain full access to natural light and to the views of Melbourne.
