peckvonhartel are commissioned by Airservices Australia (AsA) to produce a masterplan and site study of the Melbourne centre, and to design and document a building for the Technology and Asset Services (TAS) Business Unit, one of the key business units within the Melbourne centre.

AsA has previously appointed peckvonhartel to undertake commissions at the Melbourne and Canberra centres, and to prepare the national AsA Accommodation Guidelines.

The masterplan of the Melbourne centre aims to tie together disparate existing buildings and parking, which are spread across the large site; provides a rational circulation path and a clear entry point to the centre. A courtyard is centrally located to allow interaction between all departments of AsA.

The TAS Business Unit manages technical and asset support for systems, facilities and communications infrastructure. The new two storey building will house the entire (TAS) Business Unit, provide support to the adjacent refurbished workshops, include flexible work areas, and promote direct relationships between internal and external spaces. The new building will be an integral part of AsA operations and is intended to set a benchmark for future organisation growth in the near future.
