ATO Penrith Leasing Evaluation, Penrith, NSW

role Design Advisory value NA completion date February 2014 area 13,000m² client DTZ

peckvonhartel was appointed by DTZ as the Architectural panel member for the leasing tender review of the proposed new 13,000m2 purpose built office for the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) in Penrith, NSW.

The tender review required peckvonhartel to analyse the brief requirements for the new building. peckvonhartel was responsible for the assessment of both the base building and typical floor plates to ensure that the ATO values and requirements would be fully supported within the proposed environment.

Critical to the assessment was the ability of peckvonhartel to analyse how the approach to the interior spaces would impact on flow and workplace design. ATO were in the process of trialling contemporary workplace strategies, therefore the building needed to be able to address both current and future needs. This included the approach to where built form could be located and how privacy and acoustic separation could be implemented, without reducing the quality of the overall environment for all users.

peckvonhartel generated additional workplace objectives and statements that in addition to the standard ATO performance guidelines enabled an objective and repeatable assessment to be made for all tender submissions.
