Balmoral Grove is a unique aged care and retirement living complex on the outskirts of Geelong, at Grovedale Victoria. peckvonhartel were commissioned to design 34 new modern independent living units in a landscaped environment adjacent to an existing 120 bed hostel. In addition to the independent living units, the project included designing a new wing to the hostel providing accommodation for 50 high and low care residents.

Six types of independent living units are sensitively sited to create a small community with safe pedestrian access to community facilities. Each living unit has a small private garden and access to communal garden space.

The addition to the existing hostel also includes upgrading existing internal and external elements to improve resident living.

Balmoral Grove provides the ideal environment for "ageing in place".
