Brocade Fitout, 100 Arthur Street, North Sydney NSW

role Interior Design area 250m² value $480,000 completion date September 2015 client Brocade

peckvonhartel was engaged by Brocade to redesign their Sydney office to suit new corporate branding and to create a light and refreshed work environment for their employees.

Brocade’s brief for a relaxed, residential style workspace for their employees responded to their global design standards. peckvonhartel worked with Brocade’s head office team to deliver a design that balanced the branding of their existing fitouts, with the introduction of new materials in fitout design.

The client was particularly drawn to the use of feature timber screening. Timber is used in the fitout to highlight the entry and carried through the workspace areas to divide spaces with the use of timber screening. The layout of the fitout brings the kitchen towards the entry and combines the breakout with the waiting area, whilst maintaining the capacity for a large corporate boardroom with outlooks onto the harbour.

The use of Brocade’s corporate colours; orange, blue and green, were highlighted in key areas of the fitout such as the feature banquette at the entry, which creates a relaxed breakout and waiting area for both clients and employees.

Challenges faced by peckvonhartel were the short lead times and tight program to minimise the inconvenience of employees working from home during the construction period. peckvonhartel worked alongside Buildcorp contractors to permit the project to be delivered on time and on budget within the short four week construction period, allowing Brocade’s employees minimal inconvenience and a smooth transition into a new workspace.
