Following the success of the Chophouse restaurant in Sydney, peckvonhartel were engaged to undertake the design of the Chophouse restaurant in Perth. Located in the unique heritage landmark building “Cloisters on Hay”, the design of the restaurant is based on an evolution of the current New York Steakhouse style interior which has become an institution to diners seeking more than just a meal. The aesthetics have been inspired by the style of a “Country Manor” which is reflected in the material selection and detailing.

The restaurant seats 210 diners over two levels, comprising an informal, welcoming and relaxed dining area on the ground floor with a more formal dining room upstairs. The restaurant also offers seating on the leafy outdoor terrace which is inspired by a “summertime garden atmosphere” and provides a beautiful setting for diners throughout the year.

The design is simple, honest and unpretentious with subtle flourishes of colour, texture and pattern introduced through the careful inclusion of patterned tiles, brass trims, wallpaper, decorative items and lighting.
Chophouse Perth provides an opportunity for guests to experience locally sourced ingredients and the best produce from across Australia in the warm and characteristically quirky Chophouse environment.
