peckvonhartel is engaged to design the new 32,000m² fitout for the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) in the Adelaide Central Business District. peckvonhartel has joined with local firm Hardy Milazzo to deliver this project.

The fitout is located within the new Tower 8 building, at Franklin Street, it is the largest urban development in the Adelaide Central Business District. The ATO fitout covers 14 consecutive floors, in addition to the ground and mezzanine levels, accommodating in excess of 2000 personnel.

peckvonhartel has recently completed the concept design phase for this major fitout and has now progressed to the Design Development phase. The design and construction of both the Tower 8 building and its interior encompasses a strong focus on sustainability to meet the commitment to achieve a 5 Star Green Star rating for both building and fitout.

The workspace design has been developed to provide a connection throughout all levels, and to embrace the key organisational ideals of community, protection and support. The intent is to create a link to the community through ‘streetscape’ and ‘laneway’ design elements that incorporate a finishes palette inspired by South Australian landscape elements.
