As part of the Country Women’s Association (CWA) Pilot Portfolio Program, peckvonhartel produced a detailed site report and diagrammatic massing options for the re-development of the CWA Head office in Potts Point. The project has been lodged for Development Approval and comprises a nine-storey mixed-use building that accommodates the CWA Head Office, CWA Residential Club and 18 private residential apartments.

The CWA Head Office requires additional office space to facilitate an increase in the administration required to manage programs such as drought relief to rural families. The re-development of the CWA Residential Club allows an upgrade to the standard of the existing rooms and will provide a broader range of room types to suit members. Balconies will be incorporated within the new development to allow members to enjoy views across the district.

Residential apartments are proposed on Levels 5 to 8 that are completely independent to the CWA facilities. A dedicated entry to the apartments is provided at the north-west corner of the site. The 18 apartments comprise one, two and three bedrooms and their functional layout has been developed specifically to suit inner city living. The top two levels are setback to allow the opportunity for ‘rooftop’ living and these apartments have generous external open spaces.

There are two levels of basement car parking accessed from Baroda Lane at the rear of the site. The carpark serves the CWA and apartments.
