Infront Systems is an organisation that delivers Information Technology (IT) solutions and support. peckvonhartel were approached by Infront to design their new office located at a prominent and trendy address in Manuka, ACT, surrounded by fashion boutiques, stylish eateries, as well as theatres and cinemas.

The brief called for a functional office space that took advantage of the prominent location and responded to the natural environment. Functionally, the layout makes the best use of natural light and views by locating the open plan work areas adjacent to the perimeter of the building. The client meeting room is also positioned to the perimeter and overlooks the street, generating an interaction with the outside environment. An open plan work area with bench style work points provides a flexible arrangement as staff frequently enter and exit the office due to the nature of work.

The application of colour and paint is integral to the consistency of the interior design solution. A common charcoal hue has been used throughout the tenancy and acts as a rich base for the application of all furniture, fittings and finishes. Boldness is added by introducing colour sparingly, and accent paints and finishes generate interest and contrast.

Overall, the design of the tenancy has been carefully managed and a subtle application of paint and colour achieves a space that is both dramatic and dynamic.
