Infrastructure Partnerships Australia Fitout, Australia Square Plaza, Sydney NSW

role Interior Design area 257m² value $350,000 completion date July 2015 client Infrastructure Partnerships Australia

peckvonhartel were appointed by Infrastructure Partnerships Australia (IPA) to deliver a new and dynamic office space for their relocation to prestige office accommodation in Sydney. The new premises needed to present a strong individual identity for the organisation as IPA were moving out of office space shared with a sister company.

Based on the client’s brief, peckvonhartel was to design a fresh and contemporary fitout which highlighted IPA’s involvement with the infrastructure industry, and demonstrated a corporate presence to display the new IPA branding to clients. The workspace uses a minimal variety of materials. The feature blue colour connects the whole workspace through the workstation screens, kitchen joinery and meeting room feature walls. Large industrial graphics are used to draw people into the space and through each of the areas of the fitout.

The entry was a key aspect of the design for IPA as it provides the first impression of the new corporate identity to the industry. To respond to this briefed requirement, peckvonhartel contrasted the entry space transition to the workspace by using a charcoal black and feature timber slat wall and amplifying the interest at the entry through the use of LED lighting cutting through the slats. This design allows the client to showcase images of their work through a suspended display system which sits adjacent to the waiting area.

peckvonhartel successfully managed the project from inception through to completion a the short 11 week program. peckvonhartel demonstrated key strengths working with the client and construction team to meet program, budget constraints and client expectations.
