It is with great pride and excitement that we celebrate being the recipient of the 2014 Australian Institute of Architects, Victorian Architecture Award, Sir Osborn McCutcheon Award for Commercial Architecture, for the Victorian Desalination PlantThe Sir Osborn McCutcheon Award is the peak award for Commercial Architecture in Victoria. peckvonhartel undertook the project in joint venture with ARM Architecture.

The $3.5 billion project is one of the biggest and most complex infrastructure projects in Victoria’s history. The design realises a total integration of architecture, landscape, technology and ecology. Conceptually, the project is informed by land art and employs the “green line” as the integrative, sculptural gesture.

Announced at a presentation dinner held by the Australian Institute of Architects on Friday 20 June 14, the project will now progress to the national awards and winning entries will be announced 6 November 2014 in Darwin.

We are extremely honoured to receive this award for this landmark project which is an exemplar of our core philosophy: design excellence, collaboration, problem solving, holistic thinking and commitment to what we do.
