The Wheeler Centre for Books, Writing + Ideas has been shortlisted for an IDEA Award. The prestigious Interior Design awards receive hundreds of submissions each year and showcase the best of Australian design.

peckvonhartel hosted a cocktail party at the newly designed American Club in Sydney on Wednesday August 18. The event followed on from Melbourne celebrations in February to recognise the company’s 30th Anniversary.

The Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre has won an award for its exceptional environmental features. peckvonhartel is pleased to have played a role in overseeing the design of this outstanding building.

peckvonhartel hosted a lunch with Infrastructure Partnerships Australia and the Shadow Minister for Planning, Brad Hazzard MP, in order to discuss the issues confronting New South Wales.

It was with excitement that peckvonhartel celebrated its 30th Anniversary on 22 February 2010.  In recognition of past and present achievements, the company acknowledged the milestone by hosting a cocktail party at the newly designed Wheeler Centre for Books, Writing + Ideas.

peckvonhartel celebrated its 2009 Christmas party in Canberra on Tuesday December 8.  A series of presentations, management and strategy exercises in the morning was followed by a tour of the National Portrait Gallery by Graeme Dix.  It was then on to lunch and drinks at the Pialligo Estate Winery, where staff enjoyed the chance to relax and catch up.  It was a fun day and a great opportunity for peckvonhartel staff to celebrate another year of fantastic work.  The gathering of staff reinforces our capability and our policy of thinking, operating and enjoying being a National Practice.

The Taste restaurant fitout continues to gather accolades and publicity including most recently being featured in the latest issue of Industry Magazine.

peckvonhartel is delighted to acknowledge the selection of Principal Rachel Peck as a participant in the Rudd Australia 2020 Summit.

peckvonhartel is excited to announce that it has been commissioned to undertake design works for the refurbishment of the Canberra Airport Terminal for Qantas. Included in the scope of work is a new office fitout, public toilets, security screening area, baggage handling facilities, ticketing office, check in counters & kiosks, access ramp and new aerobridge.

peckvonhartel is pleased to welcome Dominic Pelle as Senior Architect in Canberra, Jeanne Lee as Principal Design Architect in Melbourne, and Thomas Wagner as Senior Architect in Sydney.

Taste restaurant has been short listed for the Interior design Awards due to be announced in April. The restaurant has also featured on the cover of the April edition of Industry magazine and featured in the March edition of Venue magazine. Kingsleys Canberra restaurant has also featured in issue 21 of Venue magazine.

According to Yvonne von Hartel, Director of ConnectEast and Convenor of the Art Committee, three of the art works on Victoria's Eastlink have now been completed.

peckvonhartel wins design commission for 4,000m² integrated fitout for Altium.

The new Melbourne Convention Centre is on track for an early 2009 completion. Trust member Yvonne von Hartel reports that the 5,000 seat auditorium and associated meeting room and conference areas are on schedule for the formal mid 2009 opening. The new Centre has been awarded a 6 Star Green Star environmental rating by the Green Building Council of Australia under its Convention Centre rating tool, for the Convention Centre's innovative environmental design and operational features; the first in the world for a convention centre.

In recognition of their outstanding service and commitment we are pleased to announce the appointment of Marcelo Solar as Principal and Lisa Capezio as Interior Design Principal, and Aaron Copeland as Senior Interior Designer.

Staff from all offices of peckvonhartel were flown to Sydney for the 2007 Christmas party. A highlight of the two day event was an inspirational talk on leadership given by Rod McGeoch AO which was followed by dinner at the newly opened peckvonhartel designed Taste Restaurant. Needless to say great fun was had by all.
