    peckvonhartel is proud to announce the completion of the recently opened South Tuggeranong Fire & Rescue Station in Conder which will serve the Tuggeranong Valley and Lanyon areas in the ACT. This station is the second project to be opened as part of the ACT Emergency Service Agency (ESA) Station Upgrade and Relocation Strategy. The South Tuggeranong Fire & Rescue Station provides the southern Canberra community with a state of the art emergency services facility.

    peckvonhartel is delighted to be invited by ISPT to participate in the Workplace Now event taking place in Canberra from 27 April – 8 May. Workplace now is a pop up exhibition showcasing the latest in office environment, where smartworking creates an effective and diverse shared workplace. We will be speaking about our experience reviewing Commonwealth Government workplaces over the past five years and bringing that knowledge to participants over 2 separate presentations.

    peckvonhartel would like to congratulate Balibo House Trust on the opening of the Balibo Fort Hotel and the Culture and Heritage Centre in Timor-Leste. peckvonhartel is proud to be involved in this historic project as the project architect. Eight brand new hotel rooms have been constructed along with a complete refurbishment of the old Fort House which was built in 1946. The centre will support and stimulate the local community providing ongoing employment and training opportunities and is envisaged as a major tourism drawcard to the region.

    peckvonhartel were recently announced as one of six shortlisted local and international designer in a competition to design the Chancery extension at the High Commission of India in Canberra. peckvonhartels design for the new addition draws inspiration from the architecture of Fatehpur Sikri and the intricately carved surfaces of the Jain temples such as Ranakpur. peckvonhartel presented our concept to the High Commission of India as part of the next round of the competition.

    The Australian Institute of Architects has announced the jury panel for the 2015 Victorian Architecture Awards. peckvonhartel’s senior principal, Yvonne von Hartel AM, is the chair of the jury panel for the Commercial Architecture category. In 2014 peckvonhartel and ARM Architecture won The Sir Osborn McCutcheon Award for Commercial Architecture for the Victorian Desalination Project. Entries will be presented at a free event open to the public on Saturday 28 March at Monash University.

    It was recently announced that the Black Forest Mill has been given a $100,000 grant for a solar farm. peckvonhartel has been appointed to develop a master plan to regenerate this important part of Victorian history. The vision for the Black Forest Mill is to develop, in collaboration with local residents, a vibrant, welcoming and affordable precinct which Victorians and visitors to the State can share with the local community the many delights of the Macedon Ranges and surrounding regions.

    peckvonhartel is pleased to announce that the new Genki Sushi has opened in the Tuggeranong Hyperdome in Canberra. The concept for the fitout was to highlight the art form of Sushi and Japanese culture. peckvonhartel designed a new icon, logo and menu that reflect this concept and reinforced the Genki Sushi brand.

    peckvonhartel join with Quintessential Equity in announcing a striking 13,500m2 commercial office development in Geelong’s CBD. The design has been lodged for planning approval with the City of Greater Geelong and seeks to integrate a historic former Dalgety and Co building with a new modern development above. The 12 level office building will provide a new landmark on this prominent gateway site. peckvonhartel look forwarded to finalising planning approval with the City of Greater Geelong and working with Quintessential to develop this exciting project.

    On the 13 November 2014, The Professor Marie Bashir Centre officially opened at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. peckvonhartel were delighted to attend the opening ceremony and to celebrate the unveiling of one of the most advanced mental health centres in the world.

    Following the release of the Victorian Arts Precinct Blueprint prepared under Yvonne von Hartel’s direction earlier this year, a proposal for an Arts Centre Gateway was unveiled last week at The Arts Centre Melbourne’s 30th birthday celebration. The Gateway project concept was prepared by peckvonhartel, Peter Elliott Architects and John Wardle Architects working in collaboration and develops a concept for one of the major projects identified in the Blueprint.

    peckvonhartel congratulate the team from Japara Healthcare Ltd on their turning of the sod ceremony for the Bayview Aged Care Extension project. peckvonhartel look forward to overseeing construction of the facility with completion set for late 2015.
