One National Circuit Barton ACT
role Architecture value $55 million area 17,000m² completed date March 2007
Designed by peckvonhartel, One National Circuit is located at the corner of National Circuit and Kings Avenue in one of the most prominent positions within the Parliamentary Zone. In addition to the National Circuit frontage, the building has a major facade and entry to Kings Avenue, one of the three avenues identified by Walter Burley Griffin in the early planning of Canberra.
The building has been designed specifically to meet the security requirements of the tenant, the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet. The site sits within a mature landscaped setting of trees, is within walking distance to Parliament House as well as other significant public and government buildings.
One National Circuit provides a net lettable area of 15,000 sqm over 5 floors and spectacular views of Parliament House, the Brindabellas and Lake Burley Griffin. The large floor plates provide flexibility and superior efficiencies. Tenants and visitors are served by café style amenities at the Ground Floor and a basement car park provides ample parking for the tenants.
