peckvonhartel is a widely recognised national and international design practice with a reputation and commitment to delivering timeless, quality design and professional expertise.

The practice was established in 1980 by Senior Principals Robert Peck AM and Yvonne von Hartel AM. peckvonhartel has offices in Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra and Brisbane that operate to an international capacity. Each office functions independently and as an integral part of the total practice. A completely integrated IT communication network enables each office to operate as part of a single, linked open plan environment. People in different locations can work on the same project in real time, achieving major benefits in scalability, flexibility and efficiency.

The portfolio of work undertaken by the practice is extensive and multidisciplinary, ranging from large scale master-planning and urban design, architecture and interior design, to small detailed fixtures and fittings, graphics and displays. The professional capacity spans all facets of the built environment including project development, planning and management, procurement advice and execution, planning consultancy and expert witness services.

Award winning projects include commercial office buildings at 1 and 333 Collins Street Melbourne, One National Circuit Barton, the Australian National Museum (completed under an Alliance Contract as the Australian Canberra Federation Celebration), the first Australian five star environmental office fit-out for Land Victoria and many other international and national awards.

The practice participates in the community at the broadest level. Senior Principals Robert Peck and Yvonne von Hartel have individually received an Order of Australia for their contributions to urban design, architecture, design and building.
