In October 2005, The Royal Australian Institute of Architects called for Expressions of Interest to examine the options for the redevelopment of the building owned and occupied by the RAIA at 41 Exhibition Street, Melbourne.

peckvonhartel were selected as consultants in November 2005 and were asked to prepare a report detailing feasibility solutions for the premises that addressed specific issues issues for the RAIA and the building at 41 Exhibition Street.

The report by peckvonhartel identified eight potential redevelopment options and their associated costs and benefits. The options ranged from a 'do little' option to full redevelopment of the site.

The second stage of this project involved the development by peckvonhartel of a full accommodation and functional requirement brief for the RAIA which will be used as the basis for future redevelopments of the site.
