submissions and business development manager - melbourne

peckvonhartel is currently seeking a highly motivated Submissions and Business Development Manager to join our national team. We are looking for a vibrant, experienced individual to play a key role in achieving business development strategy through this dual-purpose position.

On the submissions side, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing the production of the firm’s submissions, including managing effective and efficient submissions processes and systems, and driving the evolution of the submissions function by working closely with the principals and other senior leaders across the business.

The Business Development aspect of the role will involve working closely with the principals and other senior leaders across the business to build a stronger Business Development and marketing strategy to positively affect the business’ growth plans and revenue.

Organisational Roles applicable to this position:

Business Development Manager

The Business Development Manager reports to the National Practice Manager and is responsible for:

  • Working with the leadership team to develop and drive a Business Development strategy for the business, including marketing, communications and client engagement;
  • Identifying opportunities and developing initiatives to increase brand profile in key sectors and with key client groups;
  • Maintaining and improving marketing collateral, including project sheets, industry/sector capability statements and CVs for senior staff;
  • Managing marketing initiatives including events, publications, sponsorships, newsletters, social media and speaking opportunities;
  • Updating key communications channels including industry publications, internal communications and social media platforms;

Submissions Manager

The Submissions Manager reports to the National Practice Manager and is responsible for:

  • Coordinating and managing the production of the firm’s submissions, including liaising with sub consultants;
  • Drafting, editing, formatting and proofing submissions and other related materials;
  • Ensuring best practice is followed and maintained with submissions, including managing effective and efficient processes and systems;
  • Drive the evolution of the submissions function by working closely with the principals and other senior leaders;
  • Provide input into the strategic thinking behind submissions, including bid/no bid decisions, effective structuring and key messaging;
  • Report regularly to the firm’s leadership team, including input into weekly Submissions Meeting.

  • An eye for design and demonstrated skills in the use of Adobe Creative Suite;
  • Team focused and able to work autonomously;
  • Experience in the design or construction industries;
