Twelfth Floor Barrister’s Chambers Level 12, 180 Phillip Street Sydney NSW

role Interior Design value $765,000 area 320 m² completed date February 2007

peckvonhartel were selected as the successful tender by Twelfth Floor Chambers to refurbish the public areas of their floor, located within the soon-to-be Heritage listed Phillip Street building. The project involves a combination of high level finishes with cost effective design solutions. This is the result of working with the Client's objective, creating a modern, sophisticated environment without exceeding the budget.

The refurbishment includes significant re-planning of the overall layout to create a common room with a fully integrated kitchen, new offices, open plan worksettings for support staff, and upgrades to the kitchen and amenities. Custom designed joinery, storage and worksettings help to maximise space within the restricted floor plate.

The reception area employs sophisticated finishes including marble, timber veneer and a side-lit acrylic signage board. White inter-layer glazed screens behind the reception area allow for natural light to penetrate the space from the external void whilst obscuring the undesirable view. Classic designer furniture and light fittings complement the modern clean line details of the design throughout.

Following the completion of this project, several Barristers commissioned peckvonhartel to design their chambers.
