peckvonhartel in association with Purdons & Associates Planners, were approached by The Sun Link Group to develop a Master Plan for the Enterprise Precinct within the University of Canberra (UC) campus. The Master Plan was to identify prospective building zones that could potentially be sold to Chinese Universities looking to create an educational link to an existing Australian University.

peckvonhartel’s role was to develop the Master Plan from an initial site analysis to a completed Master Plan. The Master Plan drawings, accompanied by other relevant drawings completed by peckvonhartel were completed in collaboration with Purdons & Associates for Sun Link Group to present in China.

The key issues and opportunities for the Master Plan were to identify building locations and heights to achieve an appropriate precinct density, while still responding to the UC context and the prominent Gate Way site location to the university.

The Master Plan’s key strengths include an appropriate response to the Gate Way site and the need for a strong urban edge to the adjacent bounding road ways. The Master Plan also responded to open space, car parking, internal circulation and a water sensitive urban design response.
