The City Square Hotel is sited adjacent to Melbourne’s most prominent public space, the Melbourne City Square. The Hotel adjoins the restored and renovated historic Regent Theatre, a project completed in 1997 by peckvonhartel in an architectural joint venture.

The Hotel, operated by Westin, comprises 250 rooms over six levels. Two suites are included on each level. This accommodation is surmounted by 37 penthouse apartments.

The design of the building by City Square Hotel Architects Pty Ltd a joint venture of peckvonhartel and Desmond Brooks International, takes its inspiration from the grand European hotels and the external detailing and materials reflect both contemporary design and sensitivity of the hotel’s setting. The City Square level of the hotel accommodates a Food Court and the ‘back of house’ Hotel operations. The public levels of the Hotel are accessed from Regent Place; on lobby level are Reception, Lobby Lounge, Bar and Administration. A 20 metre lap pool and gymnasium are located in the basement. The complex includes a 3 level carpark accommodating 400 cars below the new City Square and Hotel.
