Commercial Development VIC

peckvonhartel has undertaken a feasibility analysis for the development of an A grade 5 Star NABERS and Green Star quality commercial building at a bayside location in Victoria.

The proposed development and design principles for the project have been founded in our company purpose; to create purposeful architecture, connecting and enriching communities. As such it aims to create a place that connects and enriches the local community and enhances and supports the integration of public spaces.

On an urban scale, the new office building reinforces the urban grid of the mixed-use zone and the local district. The building projection is defined as a simple series of horizontal volumes that cascade away from the street frontage.

A sympathetic sculptural response to architecture that reflects materials and finishes akin to organic beginnings, formed and shaped to form an efficient and balanced commercial enterprise with an innate sensitivity to limiting environmental impacts. The proposed architecture is vibrant and contemporary, whilst consistent with the evolution of the metropolitan ‘seaside lifestyle’, it will be a proud statement for this prominent location.

Targeted at a government tenant, this building has been robustly designed from the inside out to maximise the incoming tenant requirements. Using our extensive experience in workplace design for government, peckvonhartel has applied intelligent planning to meet future density requirements to floor plates, along with other various legislative requirements to the planning of the building from the outset of the project.

Working with a 3D model from the start of the project deepened peckvonhartel’s ability to collaborate with the broader project team, to maximise opportunities, mitigate risk and undertake early value management. It also acts as a clear communication channel for stakeholders to relate to the design throughout the process, fast-track feedback, and create an avenue for the project team to test and refine the solution in a true co-design process.
